Popularity Grows with Dota 2

On December 8 of this year, a new peak has been hit with the popularity of Dota 2. To be detailed, there were one hundred and eighty thousand folks playing the game at the same time. Dotalike of Valve has gained a new high with Steamgraph used by Steam. The stats reviewed from the community really showed that the popularity was growing.
Indeed, the International tournament triggered a spike in September. After this, the Dotalike keeps growing its popularity. In 2011, Skyrim hit two hundred and eighty-seven thousand players soon after release. It is reported that the current peak figure of Dota 2 is second only to Skyrim.
The current players are able to receive invite tickets from Valve gradually even though it is not rolled out. We know that Dota 2 is being released slowly by Valve. The game company wants to avoid their servers from melting into a plastic puddle. The consistent player was given uptake last year. This really looks sensible.
The determination of Valve allows tournament organizers to charge for tickets looks like a success. Thus, Dota 2 is worth watching not just because of the expanding playerbase. The Defense 3 tourney has taken off. It has been highlighted with one post on the Dota 2 blog. Over the lifetime of Dota 2, The Defense one didn’t not earn as much as the current series. What’s more, the later earned several times more.
The change of attitudes in sponsoring companies should not be considered as the long-term idea for tournaments to remain stable. According to Valve, they would like to become self-sustainable from direct revenue rather than the indirect one even though sponsors and ad revenue are really helpful.
